The Sidmouth Folk Festival is set to return this year with a celebratory Open Air event, primarily based in the heart of the town at Blackmore Gardens.

As well as all-day entertainment, evening open air concerts will take place from Saturday 31 July through to Friday 6 August with some amazing headline acts including Show of Hands, Seth Lakeman, Eliza Carthy Trio and Talisk.

Tickets for these evening shows are on sale now. Numbers are limited! For full Event and Ticket Information and to book see The Tickets Page and FAQs.

Daytimes in Blackmore Gardens will feature concert performances, dance music, family entertainment, street theatre and special events.

All free and open to all with some friendly collectors! The Blackmore Gardens hub is the ideal spot to spend a day in sunshine, to gather safely with old friends and to celebrate the return of the festival to the town, with a fantastic bar and a great range of catering.

The Ham will remain a main meeting, eating and drinking destination with our main caterers returning including Rusty Pig with Tom's Pies and a full range of offerings for your main meals, coffees, etc.

The Anchors Away Bar will be serving you fine ales, ciders and a wide range of other drinks.

All this year's festival activities will be run in line with existing Covid-19 guidance. All relevant precautions and health and safety measures will be taken to ensure your comfort, and to maximise your enjoyment of the festival.

After the success of last year's Online Festival, there will be an online presence again in 2021, with plenty of zoom workshops for those who can't attend – more details to follow soon.

All 2020 tickets will be rolled forward to 2022 (unless requested otherwise) including the Pre-Festival shows which will now be:

Steeleye Span Thursday evening 28 July 2022

The Fisherman's Friends Friday afternoon 29 July 2022

A spokesperson said: "We are looking forward to this special celebration, as we thank everyone who helped the festival survive last year's cancellation and to secure its future.

"Heartfelt thanks again to all who supported the Crowdfunding campaign. Some rewards will be redeemable this year, some will need to be deferred to 2022 and that option remains for all pledges.

"As we are not able to run our Bulverton campsite this year, we are presently expecting a very limited availability of camping/live in vehicle facilities. We expect to be able to update you shortly.

"Please do join us in our beautiful seaside home in the first week of August to celebrate the ongoing future of The Sidmouth Folk Festival.

"And we look forward to returning in 2022 in grand style!"

Next year's dates for your diary: The Sidmouth Folk Festival 29 July – 5 August 2022.
