If you haven't yet got your £150 tax rebate, the district council is encouraging you to claim it.

The rebate is a one-off partial refund from the government to help people with the cost of living amid rising energy prices.

The district council said it has so far paid 75 per cent of eligible East Devon residents living in council tax band A to D properties.

Who's eligible?

You'll need to be:

  1. Living in a property in the A to D council tax bands or E with a disablement reduction,
  2. Be liable to pay council tax at the address,
  3. And the property must be your sole or main residence

How can I get the £150 rebate?

The district council will be sending out letters from tomorrow (Monday 9 May) to all remaining eligible residents.

It has also said that an online claim form will go live soon on its website for those who do not pay council tax by direct debit.

You'll need your council tax account number, which can be found on the top of a council tax bill, along with the unique access code that will be in their letter. You can request a copy of your bill on EDDC's website.
