Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat rescues two cut off by tide

Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat rescued two people cut off by the tide at Beer Head on Thursday (2 February).

The charity was paged at 1.22pm and launched its Sidmouth 2 lifeboat.

On arrival, the crew helped the stranded pair into the boat and then took them back to Beer beach.

A spokesperson said: "Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat was tasked to two persons cut off by the tide at Beer Head.

"Sidmouth 2 was launched and on arrival, the two casualties were helped into the Lifeboat and taken back to Beer beach, where they were handed over to the Coastguard.

"Many thanks to all involved."
