Bert, a resident of one of Doveleigh Care's local care homes, has celebrated his 102nd birthday.

The centenarian enjoyed a Victoria sponge cake topped with lemon icing, a visit from his family and an afternoon music session.

According to the Manager of Dove Court Care Home in Seaton, Sharon Chedzoy, Bert also loved singing his favourite song My Old Man's a Dustman whilst playing his favourite card game, Rummie, with other residents.

On his birthday, Sharon said 'Happy Birthday, Bert!' He responded 'it's not this week, it's next week', Sharon replied with 'no, it's today Bert', to which he said with excitement 'Hooray! It's my birthday today, I'm 102!'

Doveleigh Care is a care home company based in East Devon. Each of Doveleigh Care's three care homes located in Sidmouth, Seaton and Colyton are rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission.
