Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash on the M5 near Tiverton in which a man was killed.

The accident happened shortly before 10.40pm last night on the southbound carriageway about a mile south of Junction 27, and involved a silver Saab 93 and a Scania HGV lorry.

The man driving the Saab suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The southbound carriageway was closed for more than seven hours so that a full investigation of the scene could be carried out.

The police have asked for any witnesses to contact them via [email protected] or by telephone on 101, quoting log 0975 of 09/08/21.
