Sidmouth Parish Church is hosting a weekly 'Warm Welcome' event every Tuesday from 11am to 2pm, complete with hot drinks, soup and biscuits.

It joins several other locations in the town providing such spaces to help people keep heating bills down amid the cost-of-living crisis.

All are welcome, residents and visitors alike. Board games and puzzles are also on offer, alongside a chance to chat to people attending.

Rev. Matt Selman said: "We're glad to be part of the Warm Welcome being provided by churches and community organisations across Sidmouth.

"The church is always open as a place of sanctuary and it's great to extend that welcome with refreshments and company on Tuesdays.

"We hope that it can be a space for all of us to find encouragement and warmth this winter - everyone is welcome."

The initiative is planned to continue throughout the cold months as needed.
