Plans to build up to nine new homes on land to the west of Down Close in Newton Poppleford have been submitted to East Devon District Council.

If approved, the proposals would see between one and nine dwellings constructed, with access from Down Close.

As the application only seeks "permission in principle", there are no technical details such as what the houses would look like.

A previous application for 15 homes on the site was rejected in 2014 and dismissed at appeal the following year.

The application is currently awaiting a decision from the district council.
