Sidmouth retirement home goes up for sale

Abbeyfield Court, a former retirement home near Sidmouth seafront offering sheltered housing, is now for sale.

The four-storey Station Road property is currently being marketed by estate agency Knight Frank as a freehold.

Described as an "exclusive development opportunity" and conversion project, it previously provided accommodation for 28 residents and has a main building and two adjacent flats.

The accommodation has single and double individual flats and also studio rooms, all of which have en-suite bathrooms, and some also have balconies and views of the sea or cricket pitch.

The ground floor has a dining room, a large entertainment room, and a lounge.

A spokesperson for the estate agency said: "The site offers potential for a number of uses, including residential, retirement living or mixed use redevelopment subject to obtaining the necessary planning consents."

A guide price has not been specified.
