Three neglected Christmas-themed donkeys named Pudding, Mistletoe and Elf are gearing up for festivities at their forever home - after being rescued last December.

The trio were discovered in a muddy field with no shelter and were forced to huddle together to shield themselves from the wind and rain.

With long overgrown hooves, they were also in desperate need of urgent veterinary attention.

Now, after many months of dedicated care, the festively named donkeys are thriving in the care of the animal welfare charity, based near Sidmouth, where they have a safe home for the rest of their lives.
