A funfair is to come to Sidmouth at the end of August, to coincide with the air show and Bank Holiday weekend – and there may also be a fireworks display.

The David Rowland Fun Fair has been given permission to use The Ham from Monday, August 23 to Sunday 29, to coincide with the Air Show with the Red Arrows on August 27, and the Bank Holiday weekend.

The company has also offered to donate towards a firework display on Saturday, August 28, if this can take place.

The proposal went before Sidmouth Town Council earlier this week, as the council are the trustees of The Ham.

Councillors agreed to the use of The Ham for the funfair, which will open on Wednesday, August 24 from 1pm until 9.30pm. The same hours apply until Saturday, when it will stay open until 10pm.

If the firework display goes ahead it will take place at 9.30pm on the Saturday.
