The Sidmouth Voluntary Services weekday Lunch Club is making a comeback on Monday, October 4.

A brand new kitchen has been installed in their centre at Twyford House, Coburg Road, and chef Sam Guck is looking forward to catering for Sidmouth residents who can't cook for themselves.

During lockdown Sidmouth Voluntary Services (SVS) provided a lifeline service, delivering up to 50 hot three-course lunches every weekday to people's homes.

Now that restrictions have eased, the Lunch Club service is back, with the chance to meet and have a chat with other diners.

The SVS minibuses are also available for transport between home and Twyford House for anyone booking a lunch but unable to get there by other means.

'We've missed our regulars'

Sam Guck said: "It will be lovely to see the Dining Club up and running again. We've missed our regulars!

"The new kitchen means that we can maintain and improve our 5-star service for all our clients.

"There will be many of the old favourites on the menu, but as the set menu changes weekly we'll have the chance to try out some new dishes as well.

"We're still using our high quality, local suppliers for as much fresh, seasonal produce as possible."

SVS urgently needs more volunteer helpers to accompany diners on the minibus so that this valued service can keep going, especially after the lockdown isolation. Anyone who has a few spare hours a week is asked to contact SVS.

To make a Lunch Club booking call June or Mandy at Sidmouth Voluntary Services Twyford House on 01395 515063. To book minibus transport, call Rich or Val on 01395 512221.
