A Sidmouth woman has raised more than £270 for Hospiscare by doing a five-kilometre 'buggy run' with her grandson.
Bev Faulkner and little Jesse went around Rockbeare and Cranbrook with the buggy in her latest fundraising initiative, and presented Hospiscare with a cheque for £276 at Honiton's Kings House Day Hospice.
Hospiscare fundraiser Toni Hiscocks said: "I am overwhelmed with Bev's continued support - her enthusiasm and determination to support us shows what kind of a person she is.
"Bev is an amazing supporter, such a great ambassador for Hospiscare.
"She works so hard, raising not only a phenomenal amount of money for Hospiscare, but also raising awareness of the work we do. She is such a selfless person who puts everyone else first.
"We are so lucky to have Bev, her whole family is so caring that they help and support her fundraising efforts by baking and making."
Hospiscare has been supporting people with a life-limiting illness in East Devon, Mid Devon and Exeter for almost 40 years.
People diagnosed with any type of terminal illness receive expert care from its doctors and specialist nurses.
Hospiscare's services include support at home, a specialist palliative care ward, bereavement and end-of-life care.
The charity supports more than 2,000 people each year, in some of the hardest times possible.
As a local charity, it needs to raise around £8 million a year to continue to provide this care, relying on the generous support of local people and communities. The financial impact of the pandemic has been devastating; this year Hospiscare is predicting a £1.5m deficit.
