Sidmouth's annual Christmas window display competition will go ahead!

Every year, businesses in the town deck their street windows with all the bells and whistles, bringing untold festive cheer to the town - and 2020 will be no different.

Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce will be holding its Annual Christmas Window Competition, with judging taking place on the evening of Wednesday, December 9.

Businesses have been asked to remember to leave their Christmas decoration lights on, so the judges can see their wonderful displays.

Local MP Simon Jupp will be presenting the winners with their prizes and certificates on Friday, December 11.

This year's categories are 'Large Retailer' (three windows or more), 'Small Retailer', 'Charity Shop' and 'Café and Coffee Shops'.

A chamber spokesperson said: "We are hoping that the current restrictions will be lifted on the December 2 and the town's non essential shops can reopen in time for the Christmas trade.

"Therefore we are continuing to plan for the Annual Christmas Window Competition."
