Sidmouth's plastic-free supporters are invited to join a team of volunteers heading out for the first organised beach clean of 2020.

The event, which is organised through Sidmouth Plastic Warriors and the UK wide Surfers Against Sewage, will take place on Saturday, 25 January.

The meeting place is The Fort Cafe at 1.30pm and everyone is welcome. Equipment, such as gloves, bags and litter pickers will be provided, however if you have your own gear bring that.

The advice is to wrap-up warm, given the likelihood of wintery weather at this time of year.

As stated by organiser, Cllr Denise Bickely: "These clean ups are cold and blowy but SO important during our stormy months, as we can get lots of degraded marine plastic out of the sea while we have a chance."
