The demand for live theatre in Sidmouth has skyrocketed after the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns, with the Manor Pavilion Theatre having sold out several of its first live shows since reopening.
Tickets have been selling at an 'amazing rate', with many of its shows completely sold out - including Sidmouth Youth Theatre's production of 'The Show Will Go On', and the Moonstone Theatre Company's 'Dead in the Water', which sold 460 tickets over two nights.
The upcoming show 'Variety by the Sea' on 12 March, featuring magicians and circus acts, has also been sold out for weeks.
'The demand for live theatre has amazed us'
Theatre Manager Graham Whitlock said: "We are now bouncing back, but to be honest the demand for live theatre has amazed us, just how fast it is happening.
"As it seems the public are very keen to return to the venue and want to be entertained."
