Sid Valley Conservatives recently held its first event after two years of delay due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A quiz night, attended by East Devon MP Simon Jupp, was held at Sidmouth Golf Club and saw 60 people attend.

Branch Chairman Simon Card and Mr Jupp acted as joint quiz-masters, with questions including 'true or false' statements, a picture round, and Dad's Army trivia.

After the quiz, Mr Jupp updated those present on the situation from Westminster on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He also spoke about the ongoing roadworks in Sidmouth saying that despite the disruption the work was on target for completion.

Branch Chairman Simon Card said: "Although the global situation is sombre we were determined to have a good evening and put world events behind us for one night."

More events are reportedly being planned by the branch this year.
