Sarah Powell joined Slimming World through their online virtual group during lockdown and reached her target weight.

She said: "It was during the first lockdown that I thought I should really do something positive. I love to run and hadn't been able to do this since late February as my knee was really painful. I had also noticed that I was gaining weight and thought that if I addressed this my knee would probably benefit and I could run again. However, losing weight is NOT easy, and so it was providential that I bumped into Harriet whilst in the Post Office and remembered she was a Slimming World consultant!

"Harriet was so helpful, chatting on the phone, sending me the new member booklets and encouraging me to join a Zoom meeting. I immediately felt welcome and got lots of ideas for meals and snacks that fitted in with Slimming World's Food Optimising Plan. It is quite amazing just how much you can eat and yet lose weight!

"After a short time I took up running again (using the Couch to 5k app) and this exercise led to silver and gold stickers from the Slimming World Body Magic system! By the end of lockdown I had achieved my target weight, having lost a stone. I can run three times a week for 30 minutes, wear clothes I had despaired of ever fitting into again and just feel so much better.

"I shall always be glad that I went to the Post Office that day in June and met Harriet!"
