A preview screening of the much-anticipated film 'Ammonite', based on the life of Lyme Regis fossil hunter Mary Anning, will be held at the Radway Cinema in Sidmouth next month.
The Radway will be showing a London Film Festival regional screening of 'Ammonite', partially filmed in Lyme Regis in March 2019, on Saturday, October 17.
Half the tickets for the one-off screening have already sold-out, with the film not expected to go on general release until November.
'Ammonite' stars Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet as fossil hunter Mary Anning and and Saoirse Ronan as geologist Charlotte Murchsion.
Directed by Francis Lee, known for the acclaimed 'God's Own Country', the film explores the themes of class and same sex relationships, with the two women developing an intense bond.
It won rave reviews from film critics after being premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
The screening at the Radway Cinema will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 5.30pm.
