Police appeal for information

Police are appealing to the public after a burglary in Sidmouth which led to the theft of a number of irreplaceable medals.

The burglary took place at an address in the Fortescue area of Sidmouth sometime between Tuesday 9 October and Thursday 11 October.

The medals (pictured) are the:

Queens South African Medal

Kings South African Medal

Distinguished Conduct Medal

Kings Police Medal

MBE

The medals are of huge sentimental value to the family and were awarded to the grandfather of the victim.

The police are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the time of the offence to come forward. They would especially like to hear from anyone who may have been offered these very distinctive medals for sale.

If you know of the whereabouts of these medals, or have any information which can assist with this investigation, please email [email protected] or phone 101 quoting crime reference CR/094590/18.

You can also give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or report online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
