High winds and heavy rain will continue to batter East Devon and the wider south west region for the next few days as Storm Gareth dominates the UK weather forecast.

Bus and train services are likely to be affected with journeys taking longer for public transport users and motorists.

Coastal roads, sea fronts and coastal communities are warned to expect heavy spray and large waves.

The high winds are likely to become gale force tonight, especially around coastal areas and hills, temperatures could drop to 4C.

On Wednesday the high winds will remain but the heavy showers should ease throughout the afternoon. However, the rain is expected to return overnight.
