Tractor destroyed by fire near Ottery St Mary

Fire crews were called out to a tractor and trailer on fire in Venn Ottery just before midday today.

A statement released by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "A fire engine from Ottery St Mary and one from Middlemoor, along with the water foam carrier from Danes Castle, responded to a tractor on fire.

"Upon arrival crews reported that the vehicle was well alight and got to work to extinguish the fire using two breathing apparatus, one compressed air foam jet and small tools.

"The tractor was 100% damaged by fire and a trailer was 5% damaged by fire.

"The cause of this incident is believed to be accidental."
