All lanes of the A30 are now open after a 4×4 fire forced police to close one lane of the dual carriageway.

Nub News has confirmed with Devon and Cornwall Police that nobody was hurt in the fire and that the road fully reopened at around 1pm.

The incident was first reported by the police at 11.50am and took place on the A30 eastbound near West Hill, close to Daisy Mount Cross.

Firefighters from Honiton and Middlemoor were sent to the fire.

According to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service: "The vehicle was 75% damaged by fire and 100% damaged by smoke."

Firefighters had to use breathing apparatus, hose jets, a thermal imaging camera and two dry powder extinguishers to put the fire out.
