The MET Office has issued Yellow weather warnings for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Sidmouth.

The weather system has been identified as yet another weekend storm, going by the name of Jorge.

Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office, Paul Gundersen, said: "This weekend we'll see another named Storm bring strong winds to parts of the UK with several wind and rain warnings in place."

Below is a break-down of how the warnings will affect Sidmouth and what you can expect for the weekend's weather.

On Friday there is a Yellow weather warning for rain, which is predicted to come in at approximately 5am.

The warning states that 'heavy rain could cause some flooding and transport disruption.'

Overall it looks like a predominantly wet day, with potential for a dry spell from 5pm - 7pm.

On Saturday there are two weather warnings for both wind and rain.

According to the MET Office website: "A spell of strong winds is expected to move northeast across a large swathe of the UK through Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning."

This could cause the following:

  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges
  • Coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves

The overall forecast for Saturday gives patches of rain, with some sunny spells in between cloud coverage - and strong winds, hence the warning.

On Sunday, a Yellow weather warning for wind remains in place.

The day's forecast gives patchy sun, rain and cloud.
