Local Beer community to vote on whether they want their plan to become part of East Devon's development plan
At the referendum voters will be asked to consider the following question: "Do you want East Devon District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Beer to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?". If more people vote 'yes' than 'no' in this referendum, East Devon District Council will 'make' the plan and it will become part of the development plan for East Devon.

The closure of the Lower Otter footpaths between Otterton and Budleigh Salterton will be extended for at least the next eight weeks to enable the restoration of the popular riverside path.
Although Devon County Council has put a formal six-month closure in place, every effort will be made to open the route earlier.
The Environment Agency is carrying out repairs to its collapsed culvert and the damaged bank and path, and is liaising closely with the County Council and with the landowners Clinton Devon Estates.
The physical closure and barriers on the footpath have been moved further south so that visitors and locals can visit a popular bird hide. The route will be a cul-de-sac and users of the footpath are requested to understand that the path is closed from that point onwards and will not be a through route to Budleigh Salterton sea front for some time. An alternative route is signed.
The path is likely to remain closed until December but it is hoped it will re-open sooner.
