As the number of people adopting children hits an all-time low people in Sidmouth are being asked to consider adoption.
Adoption agencies in Devon are working together this National Adoption Week (14-20 October) to appeal for potential adopters to come forward. This comes as numbers of adopters drop to an all-time low in the county and the number of children waiting continues to grow.
Plans to rebrand Sidmouth have been given the full backing of the town's business community.
At a Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce Breakfast event held earlier this week Sidmouth Town Council and Voyage Travel Marketing, based in Sidmouth, unveiled plans to rebrand the Visit Sidmouth website and the town guide to the town's business community.

Members of the Devon and Cornwall Police Special Constabulary and Rural East Devon Policing Teams carried out a traffic related operation in Sidmouth this week.
In a statement it read: "On the evening of 10 October 2019, police officers completed a road safety operation in Sidmouth.

Police are appealing for information following two burglaries of homes in Sidmouth.
Both properties, located off Sidford Road, were targeted between Tuesday 10 September and Thursday 19 September.
This month, Fairtrade is celebrating its 25th birthday with events up and down the country.
Sidmouth, which was awarded Fairtrade Town status in 2016, also played its part with a celebratory tea party at Primley Church Hall last Saturday.
