Care Assistant/Support Worker, Sidmouth area.

“We have a part-time, permanent job vacancy, for an experienced female, adult’s care assistant/support worker to work on a one-to-one basis with a gentleman living with a spinal injury in his day-to-day living and ensuring he keeps living life on his own terms. The client is a builder and works a lot on his computer writing up quotes. The role will include aspects of spinal injury care, bladder washouts and Autonomic Dysreflexia (full training provided). Medication administration and manual handling are also part of this role. There will be some downtime between the client’s needs, so this could be perfect if you are studying and looking to gain valuable experience.
Key Information
• 1 shift a week available (there are opportunities for overtime).
• Long days 8am - 9pm.
• Weekday Days £11.00 per hour Monday - Friday/ £12.50 Saturdays, £13.00 Sundays.
• Weekday Nights £12.50 per hour.
• Sleeping nights £9.00 per hour when asleep.
• Paid Annual Leave - 28 days per year (pro rata) inc. Bank Holidays.
• Pension scheme.
• Nurse line manager to provide ongoing support & mentoring.
• Opportunities for career progression.
• Experience working in care is essential, especially with clients with multi-sensory impairments.
• Client has a cat (no allergies are important) and he also smokes.
