Nine months of works on gas pipes in the Cotford Road area of Sidbury are set to begin on Monday 14 February.

It will be carried out by energy company Wales and West Utilities, and is expected to be complete by the end of November 'barring any engineering difficulties'.

A road closure will also be in place on Cotford Road between 28 February and 25 March.

Wales & West Utilities spokesperson Jake Sami, who is managing this gas pipe upgrade work, said: "We know that working on roads like these is not ideal, but it really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.

"We'll have a team of gas engineers on site throughout the project to make sure our work is completed as safely and as quickly as possible while keeping disruption to a minimum."

The company is inviting locals to get in touch if they have questions on 0800 912 2999, social media or at [email protected].
