Staff at local care home company, Doveleigh Care, helped residents celebrate the Platinum Jubilee in style earlier this month with music, a tea party and more. Residents at each of its three homes in Sidmouth, Seaton and Colyton were able to sing along and dance when music performers came for a show entitled, 'A Right Royal Knees-up!'.

At its Colyton care home, Doveridge, children from a local pre-school visited and handed out jubilee-themed balloons, handmade cards and hand-painted jam jars with flowers.

At Arcot House in Sidmouth, staff held a special jubilee tea party for residents of all three homes, complete with homemade cream teas, salmon and cucumber sandwiches and coronation chicken.

Quality Assurance Manager, Sam Evens said: "The staff always aim to provide an outstanding service and person-centred care to each resident. We always try and reminisce with our residents and to keep them part of the community and social events. The residents really enjoyed all of the celebrations and being able to celebrate with other residents from our sister homes and the community. The staff love being able to make special memories with residents. They feel they make a difference and can see how the residents are enjoying it by lots of laughter and smiles."

Doveleigh Care is a care home company based in East Devon. Each of its three care homes is rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission and it has won numerous awards in recent years, including 'Care Home Group of the Year' in 2017. It has also been rated one of the top care home providers in the country by website carehome.co.uk for seven years in a row.
