Now with PHOTOS: Branscombe listed among Britain's 10 prettiest seaside villages
Branscombe has been singled out as one of Britain's 10 'prettiest seaside villages' by The Guardian.
The article was published online on Sunday, July 11, praising the 'sands, seas and glorious scenery' of the country's loveliest coastal communities.
It describes Branscombe as a 'picturesque village with thatched cottages and a stream leading you through picnic-perfect meadows to a working watermill and then to the sea'.
It also praises the 'family-friendly' shingle beach and the café.
The article suggests that visitors take the South West Coast Path for a walk to Beer or Sidmouth, and drive the 20 miles to The Pig at Combe hotel and restaurant – although it also recommends the Masons Arms and the Forge Cottage at Branscombe as places to stay and/or eat.
