Coastguard rescues dog fallen over cliff edge near Sidmouth

An HM Coastguard team from Beer rescued a dog that had gone over cliffs at Weston near Sidmouth at around 5pm on Thursday (8 December).

Firefighters from Seaton and a specialist rope team from Topsham were also called to the scene.

The dog, which had fallen down around 50 feet, could be seen moving and heard barking from the top of the cliff.

A newly qualified rope technician was lowered down and put the dog in an animal rescue bag (Beer Coastguard Rescue Team)

HM Coastguard has advised the public to keep their dogs on leads when near cliff edges.
