A Devon Air Ambulance helicopter landed on the croquet lawn just off Station Road and Fortfield Terrace in Sidmouth yesterday afternoon after 5pm (Monday 1 August).

It had been called out to a man reportedly suffering a medical emergency.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital in a land ambulance.

A Devon Air Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were tasked to Sidmouth yesterday at 5.09pm.

"Our Exeter aircraft and crew attended an adult gentleman who was reported to be suffering a medical emergency.

"Our crew treated the gentleman at the scene and a dual crewed land ambulance then conveyed him to hospital for further treatment."
