A cycle bridge in the Byes in Sidmouth has been closed until further notice.

East Devon District Council said that a 'problem with the deck' had been discovered and the bridge will therefore be closed until it can be fixed.

A spokesperson said: "A problem with the deck has been discovered, so the bridge will be closed until the issues can be fixed.

"Other foot crossings of the Sid are available both up and downstream."

The council has apologised for the inconvenience.
