East Devon Luncheon Club has had to cancel its remaining lunches and speakers until after March 2021, following lockdown guidelines.

The speaker in the line-up will instead be apart of the club's next season, being held from October 2021 to March 2022.

The new dates are all Tuesdays and are as follows:

2021 - October 19th, November 16th and December 21st.

2022 - January 18th, February 15th and March 15th.

Speakers include Sir Andrew Ridgway KBE, CB, DL who following a distinguished army career and Lieutenant-Governor of Jersey is going to speak about following in the footsteps of Sir Walter Raleigh from Devon to Jersey.

Simon Card, Chairman, East Devon Luncheon Club said "It was a great pity that we were unable to continue with this year's programme but the decision was made for us given the Government's latest Covid guidelines and uncertainty going forward into the new year.

"We are keeping our fingers crossed about starting again next October and have a first class programme of speakers lined up when our lunches continue at the Victoria hotel in Sidmouth.

"We are also looking for new committee members as a number of the present team are retiring this year.

"We remain positive for the future of the club and I would like to thank the committee and the Victoria Hotel for their help in seeing us though this challenging time."
