Sidmouth Town Council has announced the full line-up of this year's airshow, which will kick off the regatta weekend.

The Sidmouth Regatta Airshow will begin at around 5pm on Friday 25 August with Team Raven, a six-plane formation of the ultra-manoeuvrable Van's RV-8 aerobatic mono-wing aircraft.

Next, a Spitfire and a Hurricane from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will take to the skies.

The Stampe Formation Display Team will follow for its first time in Sidmouth, an airshow act in the tradition of "classical barnstorming aviation" from the 1930s and 40s with four bi-planes flying at speeds of up to 130mph.

Then, a new two-aircraft team in the airshow world called 'The Titans' will perform for its very first season. The display will feature one of the highest performing unlimited aircraft on the market, the Xtremeair XA42, with an upgraded version of an all-time classic, the American Decathlon.

Lastly, the Red Arrows will perform their signature synchronised flying and manoeuvres to finish the show. The Royal Air Force Aerobatics Team did not show up in 2022.

Volunteers wanted

The town council is also seeking volunteers to help collect money for the show.

They will be needed from 4pm across the seafront, Salcombe Hill, Peak Hill, and Connaught Gardens collecting donations via buckets and contactless payment.

If you would like to be a volunteer, email [email protected].
