With Christmas behind us many people are wondering what to do with their real Christmas trees, thankfully East Devon District Council is putting on a special Christmas tree mulching event in Sidmouth.

The Christmas Tree recycling event will be taking place in Sidmouth at Manor Road car park on Wednesday, January 8, between 8.30am and 12pm.

If that date does not suit you another mulching event will be taking place in Ottery St Mary's Land of Canaan car park on Tuesday, January 7, between 12.30pm and 2.30pm.

East Devon householders are among the best in the country at recycling as the district now recycles around 60% of the waste that's produced.

The recyclable materials the council collects are valuable resources that are used as raw materials in manufacturing, to generate renewable power or create natural fertiliser for agriculture.

EDDC is holding a number of Christmas tree recycling events in the New Year where you can bring along your real tree to have it mulched.

The events will be held at:

-Axminster West Street car park, Mon 6 Jan, 12.30pm to 2.30pm

-Broadclyst Victory Hall car park, Tue 7 Jan, 12.30pm to 2.30pm
