Community Care Worker – Newton Poppleford

Our client, a well-established company, who provides community care services in the south-east Devon have asked us to recruit both experienced and trainee carers to care for people in the local community.

Responsibilities

-Visiting service users in their own homes, assisting them in day to day living tasks to ensure they are as happy and healthy as possible

-This will include personal hygiene, getting washed/showered, dressed and assisting with meals and drinks as well as taking to appointments, the shops and assisting with medication

-Being a familiar face, someone to make them feel comfortable and safe in your presence and be improving their lives wherever possible.

Requirements

-Will have previous experience within care capacity, whether this be community, care home, hospital or similar or perhaps caring for a family member, though not essential as full training given

-You must be a driver with a valid driving licence, ideally with access to car, though pool cars available

-Be able to work every other weekend or one regular day every weekend

-Have a calm, polite and caring nature

-Genuine interest in supporting vulnerable adults and wanting to make a difference.

Grounds Maintenance Operative – Sidmouth

Berry Recruitment are extremely proud to be working with a large local client who require grounds maintenance operatives to work across sites throughout East Devon mainly covering Sidmouth, Axminster and Seaton area.

This is an all hands on beck position with a multitude of different requirements needed on a daily basis. The current grounds team take great pride in everything they do and this will also need to be your ethos.

ROLE REQUIREMENT FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative this role will require a level of customer service as this is a very busy role

Below are some of the requirements of the role

  • Strimming
  • Mowing - ride on and pedestrian mowers
  • Hedge trimming
  • Weeding Litter picking
  • Watering of lawns, trees and plants
  • General estate tasks
  • Facilities cleaning
  • Awareness of and compliance with Health & Safety requirements and legislation

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Horticultural background
  • Operation of petrol strimmer's and hedge trimmers
  • Ride on lawnmowers
  • Full UK driving license,

This is a temp ongoing role paying £9.55 p/h

Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm.

Our client would really like to take on a team member who would like a long term position.

Registered Nurse – Ottery St Mary

The Nurse assists the Care Manager with professional duties and is responsible for care/nursing duties within the Home, whilst ensuring that the Care Manager is kept up to date at all times.

In the absence of the Care Manager the Nurse is the leader and a working member of the care team and as such has overall responsibility for the maintenance of high standard of care and ensure that adequate cover is provided.

SAFE AND EFFECTIVE CARE

-Assessment and care planning to meet health and wellbeing needs of Service User's safely and effectively according to individual needs and preferences using best practice.

-Admit new Service Users and introduce them to other staff and Service Users. Carry out pre- admission assessments.

-Complete and review Service Users' care plans within agreed deadlines.

-Ensure that any equipment found to be faulty is removed from service.Consider every Service User as an individual and treat them with the dignity and respect which their age and experience in life deserves.

-Meet the Service Users' own physical, emotional and spiritual needs in a non-judgemental way and to be respectful of their privacy and personal space.

-Ensure that Service Users' property is safeguarded and that records are updated as necessary in accordance with the Home's procedure.

-Ensure principles of safeguarding (children and adults) are maintained and concerns reported immediately to responsible individuals as per local and company policy.

-Ensure that all treatments are carried out as prescribed and in line with best practice, as detailed in Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures.

ACCOUNTABILITY

-Take responsibility for the care provided and answer for judgements and actions made.

-Adhere to the NMC 'The code' (2015) and ensure requirements of revalidation are met.

-Work within the scope of own professional competence, refer and seek support as required.

-Adhere to nurse responsibilities and comply with CQC regulations and outcomes (where appropriate) to meet quality standards and outcomes.

-Observe the NMC legal and professional requirements in relation to accountability and delegation.

-Monitor the quality of work within the designated responsibility and alert others to quality issues.

-Adhere to the legal and professional issues in relation to consent and capacity (adults and children).

-Recognise signs and symptoms which may indicate the presence of serious medical conditions and take appropriate action.

-Keep own knowledge and skills updated, including research, changes in legislation, regulation and practice standards to provide expert information and guidance.

-Understand the importance of correct record management and own personal responsibilities in maintaining this through passwords, storage of documentation, and sharing information ( both paper based or on electronic systems).

-To be proactive in information management including identifying errors and omission in records and personal data, informing relevant persons promptly to reduce risk of harm or inappropriate care and treatment, and responding to external recommendations to improve data quality.

-Report breeches of records security to line manager or the Caldicott Guardian.

Professional

-Must be a qualified RGN/RMN and be registered with the NMC.(essential)

-Evidence of continuing professional development(desirable)

-Have an understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008

-Post registration experience (essential)

-Knowledge and use of clinical assessment tools like Waterlow (essential)

-Understand care planning processes and have experience of writing care plans (essential)
