Ottery man wins £1,000 in Sidmouth Folk Festival Grand Draw
A man from Ottery St Mary has won £1,000 in the Sidmouth Folk Festival Grand Draw.
Kim Brown, whose ticket number was 1889, was reportedly "delighted" with his prize.
The grand draw was organised by Sidmouth FolkWeek Ltd, the charity arm of the folk festival which helps the event with fundraising.
Tickets were sold in the town for several weeks before the festival as well as at festival events throughout the week.
Chair of the charity Derek Schofield said: "We are very grateful for the support of local businesses as well as festival-goers and artists who donated prizes, and of course all the people who bought tickets.
"In addition to the cash prizes of £1,000 and £200, over 35 separate prizes were donated, including an all-in-one ticket for the 2024 festival."
Local businesses that donated prizes were The Volunteer Inn, Sidmouth Rugby Club, Flo & Us, White and Son Shoes, Osborne's, Buzz Coffee Roasters, Sidmouth Tyres and Exhausts, The Balfour Arms, Myca's Seafood and Grill, Someday Something and Sidmouth Outdoor Company.
Additional donors included festival artists John Kirkpatrick, Alistair Anderson, Jack Rutter, Bryony Griffith and Alice Jones, Dave Gibb, Janet Dowling, Fee Lock, Ray Langton, Bev Langton, Derek Schofield and Steve Knightley, as well as Rachel Charles, Gill Brice and Peter Leggett, Mrs Casey Music and Clive Morgan Heritage Coachways.
All prize-winning numbers are on the festival's website here.
