A section of Sidmouth's Ham West car park will be closed this week for work on new electric vehicle chargers, East Devon District Council has announced.

The area will close for five days from today, Monday 7 November, to Friday 11 November. The rest of the car park will stay open.

The closure will reportedly allow contractors to link up the new EV chargers to a power source.

A spokesperson for East Devon District Council said: "The area shaded in red on the map will be closed whilst our contractors install the cabling required to power the Electric Vehicle charging points.

"We hope that there will be sufficient spaces available within the car park, but alternative spaces can be found at Ham East (across the road) or Roxburgh, a few minutes’ walk away."
