Sidmouth's Radway Cinema is to receive £46,135 from the second round of the Government's Culture Recovery Fund awards.

The funding, announced today (Friday, April 2), comprises nearly £400million in grants and repayable loans to support the UK's culture sector following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first round, announced in December, included around £42,000 for the Radway Cinema in the form of a safety grant and a business sustainability grant: read more here.

The Department of Culture, Media and Sport says the second tranche of funding 'builds on the lifeline grants already awarded to support museums, theatres, performance venues, historic sites and cinemas as they reopen to audiences and visitors throughout the spring and summer'.

A wide range of organisations will receive various grants and loans, including museums and historic churches, the English Heritage Trust, festivals including Glastonbury, the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company, and smaller arts groups.
