Sidmouth Carnival is back for 2022 this weekend - and will bring with it several road closures in the town for the duration of the event.

The carnival will take place on Saturday 24 September from 7.30pm.

Road closures

From 4pm to 10pm the following road will be closed to all traffic other than float traffic:

  • Woolbrook Road, from Stowford Rise to Lidl.

From 7pm to 10pm the following roads will be closed for the procession:

  • Arcot Road,
  • Temple Street,
  • Vicarage Road,
  • Radway,
  • High Street,
  • Fore Street,
  • The Esplanade,
  • All Saints Road,
  • Station Road.

Once all the floats are back at the holding area, the roads will reportedly "be reopened as quickly as possible."

No-parking areas

Parking will also not be allowed on some roads in Sidmouth to "ensure the large floats have plenty of room to keep the public safe".

From 4pm:

  • Woolbrook Road

From 7pm:

  • Arcot Road,
  • Temple Street,
  • Radway,
  • High Street,
  • Fore Street,
  • Station Road,
  • All Saints Road.
