Sidmouth: Driver suffers serious injuries in Four Elms Hill crash near Newton Poppleford

The female driver of a vehicle involved in a crash yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 15 March) at Four Elms Hill near Newton Poppleford has suffered 'serious injuries', according to police.

Only her vehicle was involved, and nobody else was hurt. She was taken to Derriford Hospital.

The road was closed for police to examine the scene of the crash, and later reopened.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "On Tuesday 15 March 2022 at around 4.45pm, Police, Ambulance and the Fire and Rescue Service were called to a single vehicle road traffic collision at Four Elms Hill on the A3052 near Newton Poppleford.

"The female driver of the vehicle involved sustained serious injuries as a result and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the location, and an examination of the scene was conducted.

"Once the examination of the scene was conducted the road was re-opened. Police would like to thank the public for their patience and support during this time."

Police have asked anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage of the crash to call 101 quoting log number 543 15/03/22.
