Sidmouth local elections candidates named

The candidates standing for election to East Devon District Council and Sidmouth Town Council have been named.
With voters going to the polls on 4 May, the parties have confirmed who will be standing in wards across the district.
See below for the wards and the candidates, with the parties they represent.
East Devon District Council
Sidmouth Rural (one councillor to be elected)
- John Loudoun (Independent);
- Christina Richards (Conservative).
Sidmouth Sidford (three councillors to be elected)
- Lisa Garner (Liberal Democrats);
- Mike Goodman (Conservative);
- Stuart Hughes (Conservative);
- Marianne Rixson (Liberal Democrats).
Sidmouth Town (two councillors to be elected)
- Ian Barlow (Independent);
- Denise Bickley (Independent);
- Sophie Richards (Conservative);
- John Zarczynski (Conservative).
Sidmouth Town Council
Sidmouth East (none elected as no candidates nominated)
A new election will be held within 35 days of Thursday 4 May 2023.
Sidmouth North (all elected as election uncontested)
- Bernie Davis (no party);
- Stuart Hughes (no party).
Sidmouth Primley (all elected as election uncontested)
- Hilary Nelson (Independent);
- Kevin Walker (no party).
Sidmouth Salcombe Regis (all elected as election uncontested)
- Ian Barlow (Independent).
Sidmouth Sidbury (all elected as election uncontested)
- John Loudoun (Independent).
Sidmouth Sidford Village (none elected as no candidates nominated)
