The new-and-improved play park at Long Park in Sidmouth has now reopened, according to Sidmouth Town Council.

Work is also due to begin at the Ham play park on 26 September.

The upgrades for both parks had been delayed due to a shortage of materials and contractors. A bench will "hopefully" be installed next week at the Long Park play park.

Cllr Louise Cole said: "The challenges faced with the park renewals have been very frustrating for everyone and we know that Long Park is tantalisingly close and looking really good.

"I am also pleased that the new Ham play park will soon be underway, it has been designed with children and parents input to use the space better, be more inclusive and to reflect our coastal identity and will be unique to Sidmouth."
