Sidmouth: Police charge man with arson after Ottery car fire

A man has been charged with arson following a car fire in Ottery St Mary last week.

The fire took place in a Sainsbury's car park on Hind Street in the town in the early hours of Wednesday 25 May.

Alan Burstow, 48, of Church View, Ottery St Mary has been charged with arson and is due to appear before Exeter Magistrates' Court today (Monday 30 May).

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police have charged a man in connection to an incident in Ottery St Mary on Wednesday 25 May.

"Alan Burstow, 48, Church View, Ottery St Mary, has been charged with arson.

"He is due to appear before Exeter Magistrates' Court on Monday 30 May."
