Sidmouth: Proactive police operation targets road safety on A3052

Police officers completed a proactive operation on the A3052 on Friday (5 May) in a bid to improve road safety.

They stopped a number of vehicles on the road, including someone driving dangerously, someone with an insecure load, and also made arrests for possession with intent to supply a controlled drug.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "This road is the location of all too many of the collisions that we attend in East Devon.

"The operation used a range of marked and unmarked police vehicles fitted with automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras, and fixed speed enforcement sites."

Local neighbourhood officers, traffic cops and special constables were involved in the operation.
