A Sidmouth shop has again been nominated as a finalist for a regional award it won last year.

Kingfisher Cards and Gifts is in the running for the 'Best Independent Greeting Card Retailer - South West' award, an honour it was crowned with in 2022, in the RETAS Greeting Card Retail Awards for 2023.

It also won the 'Best Greeting Card Retailer Newcomer or New Branch – South' category in 2021.

Tiffany Leach, owner of Kingfisher Cards and Gifts, said: "Elated, shocked, proud and excited are just a few words that come to mind after finding out that Kingfisher is a finalist again!

"We are blown away to be nominated again this year. What a ride the last few years have been. It's been a rocky road but we have been lucky enough to come out the other side on a high and then topping that winning last year.

"That's all due to the continued support from our amazing customers keeping us on our toes and at the top of our game finding different, new, exciting cards and most of all what our customers are looking for.

"I'm so proud of my fantastic team... their customer service is second to none.

"Fingers crossed we can hold on to the trophy for a second year in a row."

The RETAS awards were launched in 2005 by magazine Progressive Greetings to recognise retailers in the greeting card industry.

The winners will be announced on Thursday 6 July at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
