A teenage girl has been injured in an incident on Sidmouth Seafront.

Paramedics, Devon Air Ambulance and Police have closed off part of Sidmouth Esplanade after a teenage girl was injured near Sidmouth Seafront.

South West Ambulance Service has confirmed that it was called to a serious incident on the Esplanade at around 2.20pm today.

Police report that a teenage girl has been injured and that land and air ambulances were sent to the scene along with support from the Coastguard.

Part of Sidmouth Esplanade has been closed to traffic while the young woman receives medical attention.

South West Ambulance Service has described the incident as 'ongoing', check back for updates.
