Dozens of Sidmouth businesses have donated items or 'promises' for an online fundraising auction for Sidmouth Primary School – starting this Friday, June 25.

The school's PTFA has organised the auction to raise money to buy new playground equipment for the Woolbrook Road site.

Because of the Covid pandemic, the school couldn't hold its usual school Christmas and Spring Fairs, so the PTFA appealed to the Sidmouth community for donations to the online auction.

The response has been incredible.

The lots available to bid on include luxury wine and food hampers, a case of cider from Sandford Orchards, a 'ladies' treats' hamper, Hot Stones therapy and reflexology donated by The Therapy Room, Sidford, vouchers for food and drink donated by The Anchor Inn, Someday Something, Blinis and Beckett's Coffee House, PT sessions, tennis and football lessons – and even a brand-new double bed from Potburys, worth more than £500. There are more than 90 lots in the auction.

Bidding opens at 10am on Friday, and closes at 10am on Saturday, July 10. To access the auction, go to the listing on the Sidmouth Nub News What's On page and scan the QR code displayed there, or visit the Sidmouth Primary Auction website.

All winning bidders will be contacted via email. If you have any questions, email [email protected]. To donate directly to the PTFA , visit its JustGiving page.
