A programme of Christmas-themed entertainment is set to get underway at Sidmouth's Manor Pavilion Theatre.

On 22 November, swing band Five Star Swing will perform festive favourites, followed by Neil Sands on 28 November with all-time favourite Christmas songs and carols.

Sidmouth Town Band will also perform a "festive celebration of music" on the evening of 8 December and the afternoon of 9 December.

Sidmouth Amateur Dramatic Society will then take over the venue to prepare for this year's pantomime 'Robinson Crusoe and The Pirates', which is described as "a swashbuckling affair for all the family". The show opens on 27 December and will run until 1 January.

Councillor Nick Hookway (Lib Dem, Exmouth Littleham) said: "The Manor Pavilion Theatre is offering a superb programme this year to get us all in the festive spirit, why there's even a panto!
