Two cliff falls took place on Monday (25 July) at Sidmouth's East Beach after midday.

They reportedly happened within minutes of each other at around 12.40pm.

A person named Glyn Warren told ITV News West Country that the first cliff fall generated a second one that was "equally as big" and both were from high up the cliff face.

Jurassic Paddle Sports, a kayak and paddle board rental service, said on social media: "Another reminder to stay off East Beach here at Sidmouth.

"Lifeguards have been advising all summer so far to stay off that beach. Today's fall missed someone by a matter of minutes.

"Please take note of signs and follow the advice from the lifeguards."

East Beach was already closed before the incident due to the unstable cliffs and there are safety signs warning members of the public to keep away.
